Opposition to the Apparitions of The Blessed Virgin Mary at Medjugorje

To be balanced it has to be said that not surprisingly, many are opposed to 'Medjugorje' and to the 'alleged' apparitions. These include Bishops and priests. The current local Bishop and his predecessor Bishop Zanic are against although Bishop Zanic did initially believe. The genuine concern for possible dangers to the church and souls that all these persons have is quite understandable and should be respected.

There are many websites and books on the subject and if you search, you'll find them easily enough. The site author does not feel it would be helpful to list any here without some analysis and rebuttal of any statements (especially as to fact) believed to be erroneous. This may follow in time!

EWTN's "Frequently Asked Questions" gives a useful account of the history of the question, avoiding any judgement for or against the authenticity of the 'alleged' apparitions. Do check it out if you are inclined.

This is a really important way of keeping a balanced view. 

The Church allows us to be entitled to our individual opinions.
Thankfully, this is a recognised place of prayer and private pilgrimage is permitted.

Who is to say that the controversy isn't all part of God's plan!

Do you want to accept Our Lady's challenge? Some seem to want to over intellectualise and maybe even presume to limit Her power and the Power of God? The facts will be fully investigated by the Church in due time in accordance with the Church's own rules which haven't changed.
